Lab for Qualitative Data Visualization

Anne Luther is the founder of the Lab for Qualitative Data Visualization at Parsons Institute for Information Mapping. The Lab for Qualitative Data Visualization is a transdisciplinary research initiative bridging qualitative inquiry and data visualization.

The lab is dedicated to work with methodologies from all disciplines in qualitative inquiry. We identify methods that are suitable to build new strategies and tools bring visual accessibility, structure and understanding into qualitative data analysis.

Our team is specialized in developing visual taxonomies, hierarchies and color schemes for complex networks and data sets. The exploration of these visual forms are closely connected to the understanding of methodology and theory in qualitative inquiry.

Our research projects aim to build open source software that can be used by a research community across all disciplines in qualitative data. Open Source access guarantees a discourse with the industry and creates a network with research driven institutions.
